JULY 29, 2007 Change is coming in this province. The Saskatchewan Party is set to takeover as the new government, and the NDP is scrambling to find stability after 16 long years at the helm. As we go through this transition, there will be a great need for balance – someone to hold the new government accountable for its actions. The Liberal Party can provide this balance. With the government set to change, the opposition will have to provide stability in order to hold the government responsible for its actions - this is something that only the Liberal Party will be able to provide. We have a plan. A plan to keep the new government from running this province irresponsibly – something the Saskatchewan Party has not only be unable, but unwilling to do for the past 8 years. We have ideas. A fresh, exciting agenda to ensure Saskatchewan will prosper and grow. Ideas to create an economy for tomorrow – one that includes all the people of Saskatchewan. Ideas to create a society for tomorrow – to ensure the government takes responsibility for health, education, and the environment. Ideas to create a government for tomorrow – a government that is accountable to the society it leads. A government that does not keep secret the details in its administration and is transparent to the people who have given them the privilege to lead the people. The Saskatchewan Party and the NDP have left the people of Saskatchewan in the dark for too long. The feuding between and within these two parties is keeping this province and its people from reaching the potential we truly have. This fall, when the NDP calls an election, and the Saskatchewan Party looks to coast to a victory, we will have the opportunity to show these parties that governing is not a right – but rather a humbling privilege that can no longer be taken for granted as it has been in the recent past.
