ABOUT Nick Schenher was born in 1983 in Kamsack, Saskatchewan. After living all over the province, Nick moved to Regina in 2001 to pursue a University degree. While completing his Honours Degree in Psychology, he began work at Ranch Ehrlo Society as a casual worker in late 2004. Now, less than three years later, Nick has moved up to the position of Youth Care Leader for Jillings House, a residential group home for youth with severe developmental disabilities such as autism and fetal alcohol spectrum disorders. Nick finds the job to be challenging at times, but states that it has allowed him to gain a wonderful perspective on life. "It has made me realize that all people are looking for very basic things in their life. We all want to be happy, and feel like we can make a difference, even if it is just for one other person." With this perspective in mind, Nick decided to enter public life as the Liberal Party's candidate for Regina Douglas Park in the next provincial election. "I believe that I can make a difference, too. There is nothing more rewarding to me than knowing that I have helped someone become happier. I wish to provide a strong, enthusiastic voice for people who are not always heard. As a candidate for Douglas Park, I look forward to meeting everyone within the constituency in order to discover what concerns need to be voiced and heard, something which the current government and opposition parties are not only unable, but unwilling to do."
